Nintendo Switch: Here's how to set it up

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches on March 3rd 2017 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Wii U. VOEZ will be the first game to exclusively use the touch screen for its controls.

Thankfully, that doesn't seem to be the case, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still slated to arrive on both your Wii U or Switch console on March 3.

While it's now unknown whether VOEZ will eventually make its way stateside, its developer warns that controller input is not an option, making it the first officially licensed Switch game that requires the console to be in portable mode when playing. Apart from characters from the said game, images of iconic personalities from the "Mario", "Splatoon" and "Zelda" franchises were also displayed.

The portability of the Nintendo Switch opens up entirely new ways to play, and lets you take your favorite Nintendo titles on the go. After all, the Switch is essentially an Android tablet that can be placed on a dock for TV play.

"There are a lot of things I can't really say about the multiplayer future just yet, but it will tie into the game - the main game - at some point in the story", Tabata explains.

Now that we know there will be portable, touch screen-only Switch games, who knows what other mobile games will be making the jump? Third party games from companies like Ubisoft will also likely support all modes. This could potentially pave the way for all sorts of mobile games being able to get Switch ports, something that the Switch's competitors, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, would not be able to replicate. Details about the game's exclusive Nintendo Switch expansion, as well as a release date, will be announced later on.
