Logan pulls in $120 million in US

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has been a joy of a character for X-Men and comic book movie fans.

A typical fan response was this one, from s_ruvin: "You'll always be Wolverine for us.no one can replace you!" Even though many people objected to his casting in the first X-Men film, claiming he was too tall to play the very short Wolverine, his portrayal of the feral, always ready to fight mutant won over the doubters.

Fox took a risk by giving an R-rating to the latest installment of the "X-Men" universe, but it totally paid off.

The film earned an estimated $85.3 million from Friday to Monday, obliterating its box office competition and relegating Jordan Peele's socially conscious horror film "Get Out" to second place despite earning $26.1 million, just a 22% drop from opening weekend.

Ryan Reynolds trolled Hugh Jackman on Twitter at the weekend following the Chinese premiere of Logan, the final film in the Wolverine franchise.

According to an Indian Express report, when asked about having the healing powers of Logan in real life, Jackman jokingly pointed towards his nose and said, "You can see I am not healing as much as I wish I had".

Hats off to Fox, director James Mangold and actors Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart for pulling it off with 'Logan'.

Before I Fall started its run at number five with just $5 million, a tough start given its reported $25 million production and marketing budget. Is Hugh Jackman actually the Wolverine?

So while we're gushing about Jackson, here's a video of him first reading as the character, before he got the part that would be the biggest of his career.

What did you think of Logan and did you think it would gross such an impressive figure in its opening weekend? Among other stats: Logan is the fourth-biggest March debut behind Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million), The Hunger Games ($152.5 million) and Alice in Wonderland ($116.1 million). "I didn't make Walk the Line, and then after the credits put in one extra song with Reese (Witherspoon) and Joaquin (Phoenix)".
