The three companies were also designated Great Place to Work Legends since they have appeared on the list all 20 years; only 12 companies received this honor.
Wegmans, which has three supermarkets in the Lehigh Valley, has been named to the 2017 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list, this year ranking No. 2. "Creating a work environment where people can learn, prosper and grow while being part of a team they believe in is what a great place to work is all about".
Wegmans ranked No. 4 in 2016 on the Fortune list. In the United States, Great Place to Work produces the annual Fortune "100 Best Companies to Work For®" and a series of Great Place to Work Best Workplaces lists, including lists for Millennials, Women, Diversity, Small and Medium Companies and over a half dozen different industries.

Data for the rankings is compiled through anonymous employee surveys as well as other information gleaned from companies.
This year's list features 12 companies that have made the ranking every year since the list began 20 years ago, including Publix, REI, Goldman Sachs and Wegmans Food Markets. It was bested only by Google, and beat out The Boston Consulting Group, Wisconsin-based financial services company Baird, and St. Louis-based financial and insurance company Edward Jones to round out the top 5.
The Fortune ranking is based on feedback from more than 232,000 employees at companies with more than 1,000 workers. Other benefits include health benefits, family care programs and paid time off for volunteering. The company is also regularly recognised for its excellence in luxury hospitality and the dedication of its employees to providing highly personalised, thoughtful service.
"It's great that every time there's something like this with Wegmans they celebrate with the employees and they make us feel it's because of you guys that work here and they celebrate cake and and just we have a fun day with it", Holly Mahonski, the Nature's Market Manager, explained.
