Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 gets official price and release date

Samsung didn't use Mobile World Congress to launch its latest flagship smartphones, but that doesn't mean the South Korean tech giant kept quiet at the show. The asking price for the 9.7-inch tablet is $599, and it's only offered with 32GB of storage.

Additionally, the Galaxy Tab S3 has a keyboard dock port on one of its sides for attaching Pogo keyboards, USB Type-C at the bottom, a headphone jack and a SIM or microSD slot. And the device will be available in stores this Friday i.e March 24, but the pricing is expected to vary slightly depending on the retailer. That's pretty much standard for a keyboard attachment to a tablet these days. It also has quad-stereo speakers, turned by AKG by Harman, said to be for premium visual and listening experiences.

When it comes to the Galaxy Tab S3, we're looking at a 9.7-inch 2048×1536 resolution display, which is the same as the previous generation - Galaxy Tab S2. What this means is that you're going to get a pretty fantastic experience out of this tablet, and it's going to be ideal for entertainment.

The S Pen has also been refined for the Galaxy Tab S3, offering a smaller 0.7mm tip and increased sensitivity.

Unlike the Apple iPhone series, which feature 3D Touch sensors placed all over the screen area, the Galaxy S8 will have the pressure sensor only at the bottom centre, where the physical button used to be in the Galaxy S7 series.

Samsung also plans to unveil a Note 8 later this year, so announcing the Galaxy X near the Note 8's unveiling date might end up doing more harm to Samsung than some actual good. "The new Galaxy Tab S3 embodies Samsung's commitment to deliver the best of entertainment and productivity, allowing consumers to do what they want, when they want". This is something that has been present on the recent Note devices, but not on the Samsung tablets before.

Online pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S3 kick off tomorrow, March 17th, with Best Buy opening up notifications for pre-orders today.
