The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a sheriff's deputy shot while serving an eviction notice has died and that a suspect has been arrested.
A worker said video surveillance showed Leforce trying to break into a vehicle before he stole a woman's auto at gunpoint.
The gunman was identified by officials with the FBI's Oklahoma City division as Nathan Aaron Leforce, 45.
Wade died during emergency surgery at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday at OU Medical Center.
However, the suspect has not been taken into custody.

Deveraux said: 'He gave his life serving his community, and I don't think you can have a bigger honor than that'.
The vehicle was later found and the suspect eventually taken into custody.
Nathan Aaron LeForce is described as a white man wearing a black shirt with tattoos on his neck.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the Logan Co Sheriff's Office & to the family of Deputy Wade", the Oklahoma City Police tweeted.
LeForce was found in an outbuilding near Guthrie, where he surrendered to authorities, Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesman Lt.
Leforce then allegedly stole the deputy's patrol auto, before driving it to a gas station and stealing another vehicle from a woman, the OHP said.
