Kellyanne Conway says Anderson Cooper's viral eye roll was a sexist slight

Kellyanne Conway says Anderson Cooper's viral eye roll was a sexist slight

Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump, said Wednesday that FBI Director James B. Comey's firing had nothing to do with the ongoing Russian Federation investigation.

White House counsel Kellyanne Conway was on the receiving end of a now infamous Anderson Cooper eyeroll Wednesday night. "I face sexism a lot of times when I show up for interviews like that", Conway said. In fact, Conway accused Cooper of sexism during her Thursday appearance on Fox & Friends and then went one step further to argue that he wouldn't have dared to roll his eyes at Hillary Clinton or a spokeswoman for a Democratic president.

"Don't call me a Joan of Arc", Conway said, launching into a defense of Rosenstein that ended with her and Cuomo squabbling about making the argument personal.

Desperately looking for some context/logic/anything really, Anderson notes Trump's past praise for Comey and for Comey's investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails (which was later cited as justification for giving Comey the boot).

"This whole thing is very simple - you're trying to make it very complex", Conway said.

Conway, as she's wont to do, deflected by thanking Cooper for the "trip down memory lane". "I was on your show often last fall saying we were going to win MI and how we were going to do it, so that was fun". "I can name many people in that same situation", Conway told Cooper. Thus prompting Cooper's pronounced eye roll. I don't have to imagine Hillary Clinton receiving disrespectful eye rolls for her elegant and direct answers to questions because we already saw that from Donald Trump during each of their presidential debates. I have no doubt that she's probably experienced sexism and misogyny at some point in her life because, let's be honest, what woman hasn't?

"I don't know who had access to my account", she said.

"I denounce whoever it is".

Cooper asked about the controversial dismissal of Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, which had happened just hours earlier.

He rolled his eyes during Conway's 13-minute-long interview after she made multiple assertions that he felt didn't add up to explain the firing of Comey.
