Nintendo Switch system at Los Angeles game show

They will kick everything off with a video presentation that you will be able to view at http://e3.nintendo.com showcasing Odyssey and other Nintendo Switch games, particularly focusing on games launching this year.

I'm still amazed that Nintendo managed to make essentially an entire day's worth of presentation of out mostly one video game at E3 2016.

Alongside its Treehouse and hands on sessions, Nintendo will also be running two livestreamed game tournaments from the show floor. The first worldwide Splatoon 2 tournament will be taking place starting June 13 with the Splatoon 2World Inkling Invitational. Composed of four pre-qualified squid squads from the U.S., Japan, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand, the tournament will find teams participating in the first-ever worldwide Splatoon 2 competition.

Nintendo say that the game has introduced "Numerous new game mechanics" while also letting players compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores. According to the announcement, the digital copies of the game for the console will now be sold for $29.99, which is similar to its price on the other three platforms.

Today, Nintendo has announced its plans for E3 2017, confirming dates of when the different streams will be taking place.

And those are Nintendo's plans for E3 2017.

Despite this, it seems that "Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition" will not have this vital function as the configuration menu of the game is consulted and it does not appear anywhere. The Switch version is set to release later this year.

You know what would make Nintendo's E3 showcase exciting?

Thanks to its nature as a console-handheld hybrid, the Nintendo Switch feels a bit more like a system of the future than its biggest competitors, even if its not quite as powerful under the hood. That will run from June 13 to June 15 intermittently. So many questions and hopefully we'll get answers to them in June. iDigitalTimes will be at E3 this year so be sure to check back for all your Nintendo E3 news.
