Bill O'Reilly talks about his firing from Fox News

A resentful Bill O'Reilly has returned to national radio after being dumped by Fox News in April, and he has an ominous message.

"In the weeks to come, we're going to be able to explain some of it", he said. That's the general tone.

The former host of the now-canceled Fox News hit show, The O'Reilly Factor, said he's gathering facts, has obtained legal counsel and will be naming those he says orchestrated a smear campaign against him. "I can't get specific because there's a lot of legality here".

Fox News fired O'Reilly amid allegations of sexual harassment that came about a year after former chief Roger Ailes was sacked after he was accused of sexual misconduct.

O'Reilly said there's going to be an upcoming expedition to expose "this crew that goes in and terrorizes sponsors" and threatens people they don't approve of. "I was target No. 1, and it's sad. From now on, when I 'm attacked I'm going to take action, mostly legal action", he said.

When Beck joked that he wanted to write a book called "Killing O'Reilly", a reference to a series of books written by O'Reilly, the former Fox host replied, "yeah, well they did", adding that he was referring to the protesters, not the company. The cable news king was dismissed from his 21-year perch at the network. "I'm just saying, this dishonesty in the media is harming this nation". "But it's not going to happen anymore to me".

Mediablast also noted that the four brothers who control Sinclair are tinkering with the idea of transforming WGN into a conservative all-news channel to compete with Fox News. This will be a "big, big story", he said, but the "left-wing media" will probably "downplay" his vindication. "It's their prerogative. They can do whatever they want". I felt bad not only for me and my staff, but for the viewers and listeners because they really had no idea what had happened.
