Plane with NYC CEO, children, pilot missing off Bahamas

The Coast Guard said Tuesday it's now searching for survivors after it found a debris field in Bahamian waters where a plane disappeared while carrying a prominent NY executive and her two sons, along with the pilot.

Coast Guard officials say the plane left Puerto Rico at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday and was headed to Titusville, Florida.

Believed to be on board are Jennifer Blumin and Nathan Ulrich from NY, and Blumin's 4-year-old and 10-year-old sons, according to the Coast Guard.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the twin-engine MU-2B was east of the island of Eleuthera on Monday when air traffic control in Miami lost radar and radio contact with the plane. He notified the Coast Guard that his wife was missing, the Coast Guard said in a news release.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force are part of the search force, the Coast Guard said.

Blumin is the CEO of the Skylight Group, a celebrated event venue development and management firm that's scored write-ups in The Observer and the NY Times.

Ulrich is a pilot from Lee, New Hampshire.

The company confirmed she and members of her family were on the plane in a statement.

The 10-seat plane is registered to Ithaca Consulting, registered to the same Southold, New York, address for Blumin and James Ramsey, according to Newsday.

Coast Guard officials report 52-year-old Nathan Ulrich was listed as the pilot. "Her family is working with investigators and we politely ask that you respect their privacy at this time", Skylight said. Blumin and her sons live in NY.

"There's no indication of significant adverse weather at the time", said Lt. Cmdr.
