Federal Grand Jury Indicts Accused NSA Leaker Reality Winner

Victor charged with leaking US government secrets to a reporter poses no flight risk if she's released from pre-trial confinement, her parents said Wednesday, June 7, 2017, though they fear prosecutors will seek to use the case to send a tough message from the Trump administration.

"The focus tomorrow will not necessarily be on whether or not she committed the crime that she's been accused of the focus will be on one or two things, whether or not she is a flight risk, or whether or not we can do some things that will assure that she will show up for trial or court appearances when they are scheduled".

Winners' mother, Billie Winner-Davis, said her daughter was "terrified" when she arrived at her Augusta home on Saturday to see authorities waiting to arrest her, NBC News noted.

The parents of the USA government contractor insist she's not a flight risk and should be released from jail before her trial.

Accused leaker Reality Winner leaves the U.S. District Courthouse in Augusta, Ga., following a bond hearing Thursday afternoon June 8, 2017. In legal documents, an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent stated that victor had admitted to printing the classified information and mailing it to an online news outlet. The document states that Russian intelligence was privy to "multiple US state or local electoral boards", according to HuffPost. In a notebook found at her home, victor reportedly wrote, "I want to burn the White House down".

The government claims that victor downloaded and printed a top-secret NSA report, removed the printed version of the report from her employer's premises, and then mailed it to The Intercept, a highly regarded worldwide media outlet that exposes government wrongdoing. Based on Winner's background, she appeared to be an unlikely suspect.

Reality Winner has pleaded not guilty in the federal court to charges in connection with removing classified material from a government facility and giving it to an authorised person.

Titus Nichols said victor hopes to be released on bond Thursday. She's never run away from anything in her life.

The leaked document reportedly provides information about a Russian cyberattack that was conducted on a USA voting software supplier prior to the November election.

The document that victor allegedly leaked was a report detailing attempts by hackers from Russian military intelligence to penetrate a company that sells voter registration software as well as local election officials.

In February, in the wake of Trump issuing his ban on travelers from several Muslim majority nations, she said: "the most risky entry to this country was the orange fascist we let into the white house". "She's, she's our victor". Davis said she became a linguist, speaking Arabic and Farsi, and spent four years assigned to the NSA at Fort Mead, Maryland.

Solari cautioned that prosecutors were not trying to link victor to terrorism.
