Asus ZenFone 4 Max launched: Know the specs, features & price

There is no word yet regarding pricing and availability outside of Russian Federation, where the ZenFone 4 Max was first announced.

For those who are not aware, Tango is a technology platform developed and authored by Google that uses computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using Global Positioning System, while Daydream is Google's take on the high-quality mobile VR experience. As far as connectivity is concerned, the ZenFone 4 Max features 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack. Apart from the huge battery, the smartphone doesn't really offer any jaw- dropping features.

Lastly, the Zenfone 4 Max comes with Android Nougat out-of-the-box veneered by, of course, a thick layer of Asus' own ZenUI skin. The phone comes in two different variants, one of which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core chipset and the other runs on the Snapdragon 430 octa-core Mobile Platform. The internal storage is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.

Talking about its design, the Asus Zenfone 4 Max sports a sleek metal body design with metal edges all around, giving it an overall premium look. As for the front camera, not much is interesting there: it's your regular, run-of-the-mill 8 MP shooter, which also has the ability to make 140-degree selfie panoramas. The bundled USB OTG cable ensures that users can utilize the handset as a power bank for other devices. It also claims that 15 minutes of charging is enough to get 3 hours of talk time. The main highlight of the Zenfone 4 Max is its massive battery and dual camera setup. It comes in Black, Gold and Pink colors. The phone has now been launched officially, making it the first one in the Zenfone 4 series. It will go on sale in Russian Federation soon. This translates into $235 or €205. However, the info on availability of the phone in other markets is kept in the dark.
