Destiny 2 open beta starts early for PS4 pre-orders

For PC gamers you will have to wait slightly longer, until August for you to play with the mouse and keyboard.

Destiny 2's beta tests details were recently revealed by Bungie. In the story of Destiny 2, the last safe city on Earth has fallen and lay in ruins, occupied by a powerful new enemy Dominus Ghaul and his elite army, the Red Legion. You'll have your choice between the Dawnblade, Warlock, Arcstrider Hunter and Sentinel Titan classes. The latter is also based on a brand new map. In addition, players will gain access to the new subclasses of the sequel.

Bungie released a new trailer for Destiny 2 ahead of the game's open beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this month.

The studio, though, promised that Control will arrive at the beta phase with "some impactful changes".

Will you be taking part in the beta?

If you're really keen on seeing everything Destiny 2 has to offer, then you'll want to log in on Sunday, July 23. For everyone else, the open beta will run from July 21 through July 23. Most vendors and services will be offline. Progress can not be carried over the full game, but all those accessing the beta will still get something for their efforts, an exlusive emblem.

As a note, your character progression from Destiny and this beta will not carry over into Destiny 2 when it releases September 6.

The beta is set to kick off in just under two weeks on July 18 on PlayStation 4 for those who pre-order. The PC version will release on October 24th.
