Quentin Tarantino Begins Work on Movie about Manson Family Murders

It is also thought Brad Pitt, who worked with Tarantino on Inglourious Basterds, is being courted to play a detective investigating the murders.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Quentin Tarantino is in the early stages of his next project which is said to be based on the Manson murders.

In 1969, Charles Manson ordered some of his followers to kill actress Sharon Tate and others inside her Los Angeles home. The iconic director has vowed to only make 10 films, leaving him with two more to direct after 2015's The Hateful Eight. These atrocities were committed by four members of the quasi-commune led by serial killer Charles Manson. Manson, by the way, is now 82 and serving a life sentence after being convicted in the first-degree murders of nine people.

It's thought that Margot is lined up to take on the role of upcoming actress Sharon Tate.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino is developing a film centered around the Mason Family murders.

Tarantino is known for his unique style of writing and directing, often using the same actors across different films, including Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Tim Roth, Zoe Bell, Christoph Waltz and Michael Madsen.

If Tarantino does stick to the story of Tate, Polanski, and Manson, the untitled film will mark the first time in his 30-year career where Tarantino delves into a non-fiction story.

Should this materialize, and we have no reason to think that it won't, it'll be Tarantino's first film to be based on true events, which is interesting to note. But I'm just spit-balling here. if we can expect any one thing of a late Tarantino picture, it's this: Film Twitter is going to be a brutal place when the thing finally hits.

That's dark, even for Tarantino, whose characters tend to be criminals and vigilantes with morals-rarely cold-blooded murderers.
