Ezekiel Elliott Expecting To Receive Short Suspension From Domestic Violence Investigation

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, there is a growing sense that Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott could face a one-to-two game suspension for an alleged domestic violence incident from past year. A few weeks ago, he hinted at potential discipline heading Elliott's way.

The Cowboys might be missing star running back Ezekiel Elliott when the season begins. But it is definitely far along into the process.

Elliott led the National Football League in rushing as a rookie last season, picking up 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns on 322 carries. Schefter mentioned in a recent podcast that he'd be hesitant to draft Elliott in fantasy and still believes Zeke is "bracing" for at least a short suspension.

"We'll see how that impacts the season".

The Cowboys take on the only team to beat them twice last season in Week 1 in the New York Giants, two of the best defenses in the National Football League in Denver and Arizona in Weeks 2 and 3 and another very good defense in Los Angeles against the Rams in Week 4.

The Cowboys do not yet know anything definitive about Elliott's fate ... but if he is about to know the charges so will they.

In an investigation that has spanned almost a year, the NFL appears to be closing in on some sort of resolution involving Elliott and a possible violation of the league's personal conduct policy. Whatever help the Dallas Cowboys do get would likely not be a major player - McFadden and Morris would likely shoulder the brunt of the carries, so another running back would help give depth or in third-down situations, making up for some of Elliott's prowess in the passing game.
