Russians slap at hinted Trump retreat

Russia's Foreign Ministry has raised once again the issue about the Russian diplomatic compounds seized by the USA government over Moscow's meddling in the 2016 elections. The Democrats are appropriately telling the Trump administration that Moscow hasn't done anything to earn them back.

Russian cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab, reacting to a U.S. government move restricting its activities, said on Wednesday it had fallen victim to U.S. -Russia global sparring while the Kremlin criticized the U.S. action as politically-motivated.

U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will meet next Monday in Washington to discuss the seized compounds.

Addressing reporters in Moscow, Ms. Zakharova warned Russian Federation will soon react in kind if the Trump administration continues to keep in place sanctions that resulted in the abrupt seizure last December of compounds in NY and Maryland along with the expulsion of 35 supposed diplomats.

As a result, the United States authorities barred Russian access to the two Moscow-owned "recreational compounds".

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, and Kirsten Gillibrand of NY hail from the two states where the compounds are located.

Russia's Foreign Ministry has issued a statement today warning that they believe there are too many USA spies operating in Moscow under diplomatic cover, and that they may decide to expel some of those "diplomats" soon in retaliation for United States moves late a year ago.

So, let's break down the lunacy of all of this, shall we?

At the time, Russian President Putin said that his would not respond in kind, suggesting that he expected a different relationship with Trump administration.

All of this even after knowing it was the Russians who waged an attack on American democracy.

At the same time, 35 Russian diplomats were expelled from the US. And day after day, more information comes out that draws a direct connection between Trump's closest advisers - and family members - and the Kremlin.

After all, for Russian President Vladimir Putin, being considered a Machiavellian grandmaster of geopolitical skullduggery arguably gives him more power than he deserves.

Perhaps there was no collusion.

The FBI, as well as the intelligence committees of both houses of the US Congress, are presently investigating whether Trump's associates were in contact with Russian officials during the 2016 US presidential elections.
