Those in the USA can see the new feed experience in action by opening the Google app for both Android and iOS.

As of today, Google Play has an officially overhauled Editors' Choice section, featuring a more curated experience.

"It's not about what your friends are interested in, which is what other feeds might be", Google VP of Engineering Ben Gomes said at a press conference at the company's San Francisco offices earlier this week. And like many technology companies, Google is invested in machine learning technology with sophisticated algorithms to better anticipate what is most interesting to you. And now, your feed will not only be based on your interactions with Google, but also factor in what's trending in your area and around the world.

Google Now has always been the center of the mobile search experience, offering relevant information as well as things you're interested in. "The more you use Google, the better your feed will be", he explained. Unlike Google Now, the feed pulls a lot of its information from things you've followed, but it does still use your Google Search history and Chrome browsing history to improve its results and customize them for you.

For instance, if you're interested in Spider-Man, Google feed will show you not only the newest trailer for "Spider-Man: Homecoming", but also showtimes for the movie at the nearest theater.

Google first unveiled its app's news feed in December, to help users stay on top of news stories that interest them and organize their personal information and schedule. Google expects that Feed could make Google app as popular as Facebook and Twitter. And for Google, until now, they have mostly relied upon their algorithms to know what their user like and wants to see. When it was introduced on Google Now, its primary focus was on content that included news articles and videos on relevant topics that the user cares about.

It combines the two functions as well, allowing you to click on certain topics to immediately perform a Google search for that item.

I have used Google Now for years to keep up to date with all my favorite soccer teams. Interestingly, Google also plans on bringing the feature to its homepage on both mobile and desktop.

Google previously tightened its developer registration systems shortly after the "Google Docs" incident in order to reduce the chances of a rogue plugin getting through.
