Man United boss Mourinho wants two more signings

Jose Mourinho has dropped another hint suggesting Zlatan Ibrahimovic will sign a new deal at Manchester United and return for the second-half of the season.

Nevertheless, Mourinho said he departs the USA confident that his team have the qualities needed to thrive in the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Lukaku will be expected to fill that void for United when the 2017-18 campaign gets underway, but Mourinho has now suggested he will also have the option of Ibrahimovic once again in six months' time.

"I've been playing for one season, I came here to hopefully be a leader in the team".

"I think in the game we did some very good things and we did bad things".

He added: "I think the problem is with the other group which is a big group because players like Pogba, there is one or two [big] transfers [like that] per transfer window".

The Portuguese recently said he would love to be at the club for a further 15 years - but whenever he leaves, he wants the club to be stronger than when he found them.

"I found an fantastic club with an wonderful history, but not ready for me to win".

It's familiar Mourinho: at once easing, or attempting to ease, any expectation on his United squad (while forgetting about the dimension of a £75 million investment in Romelu Lukaku); ladling pressure on to a younger, more inexperienced team; and subtly mocking City's decision to spend £50 million on Walker, a player whom Tottenham believed was expendable.

"You know, we won three trophies and the Europa League was very hard to win, but it is not the Champions League", he said, speaking at Georgetown in Washington.

"He was such an important guy and a good guy for us". But a total of eight home wins was nowhere near good enough and United even failed to score against West Brom, Burnley and Hull at Old Trafford.

"More - more than before", Mourinho said. I think when it looked so fast it is because you love it so much.

"So 13 years was like a finger click and I am ready for 13 more".
