Pre-order to be made available later this month

The console ships with 21 games included, including the unreleased Star Fox 2, and will retail for $79 when it's available on September 29.

At this point, consumers are becoming conditioned to just buy first and ask questions later when it comes to Nintendo hardware, so we'll see how that works out. Potential buyers can pre-order the system at the end of this month. It's good news for people left wondering when the console pre-orders would arrive - including the many disappointed fans who thought they'd secured one from Walmart last week only to have their order canceled.

Of course, we know that like the NES Classic Edition, when Nintendo is finished with the Super NES Classic Edition, they're really finished.

It has been more than a month now since Nintendo announced and opened pre-orders for their follow from the smash hit NES Classic, the Super #Nintendo Entertainment System or better known as the SNES Classic. The reason for this is that Nintendo would now shift their focus to developing games for the Nintendo Switch and continuing its support for the 3DS.

NoA made the statement on their Facebook page today, promising a "significant" number of systems for launch day and the balance of the year.

That should help soothe fears that the SNES Classic will be impossible to find this holiday. Apparently the SNES Classic will be going up for pre-orders at multiple retailers, and Nintendo is promising that it will be producing and shipping these guys all year long.
