Florida Mom Drove With Daughter's Dead Body For 2 Days

According to multiple reports in West Virginia, a woman identified as Erica Newsome of Jacksonville lost control of her vehicle and crashed around 11:20 a.m. Sunday on Allegheny Mountain, a mile and a half west of the Virginia border.

Authorities say Erica Newsome, has been jailed on charges of concealing the body of her daughter, Kaye-lea Plummer.

"I can't even wrap my head around what even would have made [my wife] snap", Plummer told the station.

Police in West Virginia say the body was that of her 11 year old daughter.

West Virginia State Police say Erica Newsome crashed her auto Sunday morning in the Allegheny Mountains, and witnesses reported they saw her trying to hide her daughter's body by a hill.

Newsome and the body of her daughter were found on an old logging road about 150 feet away from the crash site, State Police Sgt.

The 11-year-old child's mother, Erica Newsome of Jacksonville, Florida, lost control and wrecked the vehicle around 11 a.m. on Sunday, The Pocahontas Times said. "Something pushed her over the edge and she snapped".

She shared that the child's father lived in Buffalo, New York and that's where she was driving toward.

In her Miranda statement, cops say Newsome told them she had picked her daughter up from her bed and put her in her truck on August 4.

A Florida woman was arrested after a pair of NY motorists traveling through West Virginia spotted her pulling the body of a child out of her crashed vehicle and then dragging it into the woods. The Sheriff's Office said they suspected foul play. The couple married in 2007 and separated in 2009.

According to the newspaper, Newsome also told Dillon Kaye-lea did not move, eat, drink, speak, or use the bathroom for two days.

Plummer said he received a text from Newsome Sunday night saying she was bringing his daughter to him in Buffalo. Police said the girl did not die as a result of any injuries suffered in the crash. "Something is very, very wrong". I don't know how this could have happened. "She needs help. She really needs help".

"If she hadn't been discovered by [the couple] I wouldn't have known about the child".
