Taylor Swift wants case to serve as example to other assault victims

Swift, who's also expected to testify, claimed in a countersuit obtained by ABC News that Mueller "took his hand and put it up my dress" during the publicity event, and it "was not an accident". Swift countersued for assault and battery.

Mueller, 55, who was sacked from his USA $150,000-a-year job (more than Rs 98 lakhs) at radio station KYGO-FM over Swift's accusations, insisted that the case he brought against Swift was about more than just the loss of his livelihood and money.

Swift watched the proceedings closely, occasionally conferring with her counsel.

David Mueller has sued Swift, saying he lost his job after she falsely accused him of grabbing her backstage before a 2013 concert. Taylor then counter sued him for groping her and denied that she did anything to get him fired. "Any woman - rich, poor, famous or not - is entitled to not have that happen".

"I love how she's suing him for $1 because she doesn't need the money but she wants to make it a point that women don't need to take this", said Vega Zaringlee, 12.

Ian Simpson, right, of Provo, Ut., gives a kiss to his wife, Lauren, as they wait at the head of the line for the public wait to get courtroom seats to view the third day of a civil trial to determine whether a radio host groped pop singer Taylor Swift. That's a possible reference to a photo showing David Mueller with his hand behind the popstar, just below her waist, before a 2013 concert in Denver.

A short time later, Mueller was approached by a security guard who accused him of inappropriately grabbing Swift, which he denied. Bell and Andrea Swift are also defendants in Mueller's lawsuit.

Mueller was sacked after Swift complained to his employer. Swift, however, did not specifically request that Mueller be fired.

Prospective jurors in a civil trial involving dueling lawsuits between Taylor Swift and an ex-Denver radio disc jockey are being asked whether they are fans of the singer-songwriter or the former host of a country music show. She says she is only seeking $1.

Her lawyer said that Mueller has changed his account of the incident seven times and destroyed evidence.

Earlier in the day, an attorney for Mueller told jurors that inappropriate touching is wrong, but falsely accusing someone of the offense is equally unacceptable.

When court resumed about two hours after the scheduled start, the judge did not elaborate on exactly what the hearing was about, though he indicated it did concern some evidence.

Baldridge asked Mueller if Swift was the one who fired him.

The pop star has since responded with a suit of her own.

The photo, leaked previous year and shown in court, shows Mueller with his hand hidden from view below Swift's lower back.

"My hand came into contact with a part of her body... what seemed to be a ribcage or ribs", claimed Mueller when examined.
