Final Fantasy XV is holding a surprise Assassin's Creed themed festival

The pack, which is meant to promote the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Origins, will give you Altair and Bayek-inspired outfits to wear.

As reported today on Ubiblog: "The Assassin's Festival will have some additional themed items and features, including another outfit from Assassin's Creed, along with abilities that enable Noctis to explore more like an Assassin and even use some of the Assassins" more well-known abilities'. It looks like the whole town is in on the gag, as the main metropolis of Lestallum is celebrating this most murderous of holidays.

The whole thing kicks off on August 30, as Final Fantasy XV players who managed to pick up the Dream Egg at the Moogle Chocobo Carnival will receive an Assassin's Creed outfit for Noctis. He says, "This collaboration is the result of being huge fans".

The "Assassin's Festival" DLC will be available for FFXV starting on August 31.

The collaboration is a way for each franchise to honor the other's gaming universe, with the announcement being marked with a unique piece of artwork shown off at Gamescom for the first time. Back in 2012, Square Enix's game was granted access to an "Assassin's Creed" costume via the Final Fantasy 13-2 paid DLC. Fans will be able to access the event from that date all the way up until January 31, 2018.

As detailed by the Ubi Blog, the collaboration came about after an informal meeting almost three years ago between the Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy development teams. I'm going to have to reserve judgment until I play it, but for now I'm completely baffled.
