Alabama stayed on top of both major national polls released Tuesday following its 24-7 win over Florida State over the weekend.

USF is 21 and Notre Dame 24 in the Associated Press poll. No. 2 Ohio State had two first-place votes, while Clemson had three-first-place votes.

West Virginia slipped out of the rankings after losing a heartbreaker to Virginia Tech to open the season.
