U.S. should be "beaten to death like a rabid dog": North Korea

U.S. should be

South Korea confirmed on Wednesday that traces of radioactive xenon originating from North Korea's last nuclear test have been detected, but they can not confirm if the traces originate from the regime's hydrogen bomb.

While there are reports of Russian smugglers exporting oil and other sanctioned goods to North Korea, 90 percent of all North Korean trade goes through China.

The defense analysts also said that the North's September 3 nuclear test, which Pyongyang said was of a hydrogen bomb, may have been much more powerful than previously estimated.

The watchdog noted Tuesday that images appeared to show two white vehicles near the north portal of the test "and their presence could be indicative of a post-test inspection effort".

"It was hard to find out how powerful the nuclear test was with the amount of xenon detected, but we can say the xenon was from North Korea", Choi Jongbae, executive commissioner, told a news conference in Seoul. Japan, for example, gave an estimate of 160 kilotons, while South Korea's was as low as 50 kilotons.

Japan is also threatened, as the hermit kingdom claims they will be "sunk into the sea by a nuclear bomb" and South Korea to be "severely punished and wiped out with fire".

North Korea's test of a possible thermonuclear weapon reshaped the mountain above the nuclear test site, experts revealed.

The outbreak of military conflict on the Korean Peninsula would be destabilizing and could possibly result in a global war, according to Citi's top global political analyst.

The pictures were taken above the Punggye-ri nuclear test site in the north of the country.

It also increases the danger of the regime's ballistic missile program. Those three prongs - ground, air, and submarine - constitute what the military calls its nuclear triad.

"I can not solve the deterrent problem reducing it from a triad".

"The government's basic stance is that humanitarian assistance to those who are vulnerable in North Korea should be continued regardless of political considerations", the agency reported, citing Seoul's unification ministry, which aims to promote Korean reunification.

Pyongyang was expected to test an intercontinental ballistic rocket last Sunday as North Koreans celebrated the country's 69th anniversary of its founding, but the test did not happen.

A pre-emptive strike against Pyongyang's leadership is widely seen as the most realistic of the limited military options Seoul has to deny a nuclear attack from its rival. With the current missile inventory, it could also target larger areas.
