Here's what we know for sure about Game of Thrones Season 8

A new report indicates that each of the show's final six episodes will cost $15 million, but where does that place Thrones on the overall list of the most expensive TV shows ever made?

With only six extended episodes in Game of Thrones season 8, it's possible that Miguel Sapochnik, David Nutter, and Benioff and Weiss will each take tackle two of the final installments.

Meanwhile, David Nutter has been a stalwart with "Game of Thrones" for several seasons with his most famous episode taking place during season 3 with "The Rains of Castamere", which was the infamous "Red Wedding" episode.

That's all the directors the show announced, meaning Sapochnik and Nutter will be directing at least two episodes each, if not three if Weiss and Benioff are focusing exclusively on the finale.

As for Benioff and Weiss, they've each been separately credited for directing "Game of Thrones" episodes. He then directed the finale of that season, Mhysa.

Thrones begins production on its final season in October and will continue into the spring of next year.

Wagner is a frequent director of photography on the show, having worked on episodes like "Hardhome" and ' Battle of the Bastards'. Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience Featuring Ramin Djawadi will include new music and footage from Season 7, as well a new custom stage design and mesmerizing visuals courtesy of state of the art video technology.

While this may not sound the most interesting little bit all by itself, let us take a quick look back at director Miguel Sapochnik's illustrious Game of Thrones credits.

To our delight the episodes of season 8 will be longer, according to the very talkative Paula Faifield. The finale, "The Winds of Winter", had one of the most remarkable introductory scenes, with Cersei's destruction of the September. Not too much about what kind of ending to expect - the two have only directed two episodes before: the fairly forgettable season four opener Two Swords and season three's emotional Walk of Punishment episode.
