England wins toss, will bowl against West Indies in 4th ODI

England's big-hitting duo Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler pulled off a series-clinching Duckworth-Lewis-Stern victory by six runs over West Indies at The Oval.

The hosts were 74/3 but Joe Root (84) and Ben Stokes (73) set a ideal platform for Moeen to come in and smash the bowlers as England reached a mammoth 369/9 in their 50 overs.

Lewis made 176 - the fourth-highest score by a West Indies batsman in ODIs - as West Indies racked up 356 for five off their 50 overs after being sent in.

After several minutes of treatment it became clear that Lewis could not continue and he was wheeled off the field on a stretcher.

Lewis - retired hurt after hitting 17 fours and seven sixes - was the West Indies' driving force after England chose to bowl on a cloudy afternoon in South London.

England's star men combined to end the match when West Indies captain Jason Holder (34) holed out off Plunkett to Ali at long-off.

But after the fall of Roy, England lost five wickets for 55 runs.

Jason Mohammed goes on the attack during his innings during Wednesday's fourth ODI at the Oval.

Brathwaite, 29, is still best known for hitting four successive sixes in a last over from Ben Stokes that saw West Indies beat England in last year's World Twenty20 final in Kolkata.

England's total was their largest in a one-day worldwide against West Indies, surpassing their 328 for seven at Edgbaston in 2009, and their fifth-largest in this format overall.

Here Chris Woakes produced a fine, nibbly opening spell, the centrepiece of which was a wonderfully subtle working over of Chris Gayle.

Stokes, who has a broken finger, remains under investigation after being released without charge.

Eoin Morgan was glad to put off-field distractions to one side and help England secure a one-day worldwide series over West Indies on Wednesday. Still, two more matches are there to play, both of the team would like to try their best.

Evin Lewis - 10/10 - Sensational display of ODI batting from an exceptional young talent.

The game had been evenly balanced before Ali's late-innings onslaught.

Ruthlessly capitalising upon short Liam Plunkett (1-67) and over-pitched Moeen deliveries, the left-handed Lewis brought up three figures in 94 balls, yet required only a further 26 balls to reach his first ODI 150.

Jabbing his bat down on a Jake Ball (0-68) yorker the ball ricocheted off the Trinidadian's bat to rocket into his right ankle, flooring the 25-year-old instantly.

It at least gave an opportunity to Jason Roy, who was dropped during the Champions Trophy earlier this summer, and the Surrey opener returned to form with 84 from 66 balls at the top of the order in place of Hales to get England's chase off to a good start.
