Nintendo Switch update 4.0 also adds support for wireless headsets

The Nintendo Switch helped this immensely, leading the industry as the top-selling console for the third straight month, and the fifth month overall that Switch has led sales since its introduction seven months ago.

Other Nintendo Switch games to support video capture are ARMS, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Splatoon 2. With the latter, however, there's a big asterisk attached. These updates won't address numerous complaints about the Switch-like its lack of cloud saves, third-party apps, or Virtual Console-but they do signal Nintendo's commitment to expanding the console's functionality and listening to its customers' feedback. Previously, you could only take screenshots.

12 new user icons have been added to the system menu for user profiles, including additional icons from Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Hopefully, we'll see video capture introduced across the board, so fans can share all their favorite clips and really get people excited for the Switch. The system then automatically saves the past 30 seconds to the console's album.

Nintendo is also taking hints from the other consoles and from Steam by allowing gamers to pre-purchase and pre-load games ahead of release.

Now, this doesn't necessarily resolve the chat issues with games, as you still need the adapter and what-not to talk with friends, but for those with headsets that they've been waiting to use with the system, this is certain to come as a relief.

The Switch is not Nintendo's only platform to be doing well for itself, as the SNES Classic Mini has been selling like hotcakes since its September release despite also frequently dropping in availability.

Headphone volume can also be set to a higher level.

System update 4.0.0 is available for download right now, as long as you have an internet connection. Click "update" to install it and the console will restart. The option is inside system settings under users.
