New dash cam video of 10-year-old leading police on chase

Although that joyride ended up turning into a 45-mile police chase, with speeds topping 100 miles per hour and ending in physical force with cops driving him off the road.

The 10-year-old had previously stolen his mother's auto October 16 and was stopped on I-90 in Cleveland in a high-speed lane with three flat tires, a police report said.

Police dashcam video caught a high speed chase led by a 10-year-old boy this week.

Around 9:15 a.m., a driver called to report that the auto was being chased by another red vehicle, possibly the boy's mother.

The officers had to physically pull the child out of the vehicle via the driver's side window.

The boy then starting driving on Interstate 80, where a trooper motioned for the boy to stop as he pulled alongside him.

It was the second time in two weeks the boy had gone joyriding in a family vehicle, police said.

Once the boy hits speeds of roughly 100 miles per hour, four other police cruisers joined the case and tried to roadblock the speeding minor, Highway Patrol Sergeant Tim Hoffman told The Chicago Tribune. Police closed in and blocked him from re-entering the road; the auto eventually ended in a ditch.

The boy was allegedly combative with the troopers when they got him out of the vehicle. As he was taken into custody, he tried to spit in several officers faces and even kick one in the chin, WEWS reports. He was taken into child protective services and evaluated before being released to a legal guardian.

The boy attempted to re-enter the road but it became stuck in a ditch, causing the chase to end at the 121-mile post in Erie County. Police will consult with county prosecutors about possible charges.

The boy was found driving with three flat tires in the high-speed lane on I-90 eastbound near West 117th Street. "He's a good driver".

According to Cleveland.com, the boy stole a auto belonging to her mother's boyfriend at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday when he was supposed to be waiting for his sister to take him to school.
