'Multiple parties down' after shooting at Colorado Wal-mart

Two men died after the gunman opened fire in the store in Thornton, Colorado on Wednesday night.

We have reports of a shooting at a Walmart in Thornton, Colorado, just outside of Denver. Police vehicles and swat have swarmed the area, apparently looking for two people suspected of firing the weapons. Two men were pronounced dead at the scene; a female victim was taken to an area hospital where she later died.

Thornton Police Department spokesman Victor Aliva said there was no indication as to motive at this stage.

It is located off Interstate 25 in Thornton, which is north of downtown Denver.

A video posted on Twitter showed the store apparently empty except for police officers with guns drawn. No information has been released about the circumstances of the shooting or who was responsible for the gunfire.

"The employees started screaming and the customers started screaming".

A spokesman for the Thornton Police Department could not be immediately reached by AFP.

Detectives said that the shooting appeared to be random and not linked to terror.
