Melania Trump set to unveil White House Christmas decorations

Another person who agreed that presidential politics was never "Melania's thing" is Trump's first wife, Ivana Trump.

More than 25.000 visitors will pass the threshold of the White House for the holidays, and in the kitchen, everybody is setting out details for the many parties that will take place there. Stone continued, paraphrasing what Melania might have said: "Your friends are exhausted of this striptease. I don't think she thought it was going to happen".

There are, however, some new flourishes - including wreaths hanging from the exterior of every window.

Stone suggested Melania had always been reluctant about her husband's rise to power - but perhaps saw it as something of a necessary evil.

'She's lovely, like an angel!' one young boy remarked, as the first lady - who's cream-colored belted dress with bell sleeves could have been worn by a tree topper - walked into the East Room to help a group of kids make garland. "I don't think she was ever too insane about it", Stone told the magazine.

"She said, "It's not my thing".

She said: "I think he's missing a little bit of his old life. She didn't want this come hell or high water" a friend is quoted as saying. In September, Mrs Trump launched her long-awaited anti-bullying campaign and some friends said she was growing into her role.

Well, Mrs. Trump, we didn't want him as President of the United States, either.

Melania Trump's staunch style and fixed smile has been a constant source of internet speculation she's not happy about the role she finds herself in.

The dancers and the song were symbolic as "The Nutracker Suite" was the first theme used at a White House Christmas.

"The decorations are up!" she wrote on Twitter.

It also appears that the White House has a cosy fireplace and its own nativity scene.

If I'm president, you're going to see "merry Christmas" in department stores, believe me.
