Columbia County teen afraid to leave country with former soccer coach

Rodriguez was a coach for the boys' soccer team at Fort White High School in Fort White, Fla.

Caitliyn Frisina, the 17-year-old Florida girl who was missing for a week and believed to be with her soccer coach, has been found in NY and is safe, according to reports.

"I know that she to some degree left on her own".

Seventeen year old Caitlyn Frisina, the missing Lake City teen who investigators say went missing with a high school soccer coach, has been located.

Caitlyn had done a factory reset on her cell phone before she disappeared and had left it behind, and footprints leading away from her home indicated she was alone when she left, deputies have said.

The officer stopped the vehicle in Syracuse, New York.

Her former soccer coach Rian Rodriguez, 27, is now in jail on a charge of interference with a child's custody.

The two were believed to be headed north, authorities said earlier this week.

Over the first few days of the search, police received reports that they were seen traveling along Interstate 95 in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. One of Caitlyn's friends told Frisina that her daughter had "hooked up" with Rodriguez and he worked his way into her life.

Law enforcement officials had been tracking Rodriguez through an ATM withdrawal in St. Mary's, Georgia, and by surveillance cameras at convenience stores in SC and North Carolina. The 2001 red Mercury Sable in which she was riding was spotted by a New York State Police officer who initiated a traffic stop. Frisina has family in NY and Rodriguez has family in Canada and possibly Pennsylvania, according to Columbia County Sheriff's Office public information officer Murray Smith.
