Mom's boyfriend arrested as authorities say missing 3-year-old assumed dead

Earl Kimrey, 32, was taken into custody Friday on charges including concealing a death and obstructing justice, ABC reports.

People with surveillance footage near where a 3-year-old girl disappeared in eastern North Carolina are being urged to call police and share the video as they investigate the girl's death. Kimrey went before a state magistrate and has been charged with Concealing of Death, Obstruction of Justice, 2nd Degree Burglary, Felony Larceny, and Possession of Stolen Property.

Kimrey is now being held in the Onslow County Detention Center with bail set at $1,010,000.

Additional charges may follow as the investigation continues, authorities said.

Investigators said evidence gathered during the course of the investigation indicates Mariah is deceased.

The FBI released this photo of Mariah Woods, who was reporting missing on November 27, 2017. The search was organized by Team Adam, a program for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children that provides on-site assistance to law enforcement agencies and families in cases of missing children, according to Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller.

It has been five days since the little girl vanished from her home in the dead of night. "All with one mission: to help us find Mariah".

Authorities have been scanning the area and searching for Woods since her disappearance.

Woods' mother, Kristy Woods, told WITN-TV in Greenville that she last saw her daughter at about 11 p.m. Sunday when she checked on her.

'Someone just walked right up in there, grabbed the 3-year-old out of the bed and she didn't cry, she didn't scream? "Just bring her home, please, safe and sound".

"Sadly, it was too late to save Mariah the moment the 911 call came in", said FBI Senior Resident Agent Stanley Meador. "She's my baby. She's my everything". She says Kimery, saw the child later that night.

"The focus of this investigation has changed from a missing child to homicide case", Meador added.
