Pelicans star Anthony Davis helped to locker room after suffering groin injury

New Orleans Pelicans forward Dante Cunningham is listed as the starter in the game notes for Saturday's matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Pelicans star Anthony Davis has been fined $25,000 after his outburst during Wednesday night's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Davis had to be restrained by teammates after he was ejected after refs charged him with back to back technical fouls.

Then, Friday night, when the New Orleans Pelicans were taking on the Utah Jazz, Davis went down with a groin injury and had to be helped to the locker room.

Davis, a four-time All-Star now in his sixth National Basketball Association season, had never been ejected from a game previously.

Trainers came over to look at Davis immediately, and the amount of pain he was in was readily apparent. He was named Western Conference Player of the Week, then on Wednesday earned his first career ejection after arguing with a referee, which resulted in a $25,000 fine from the National Basketball Association. He's averaging 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.9 3-pointers, and 0.7 steals in 16 starts this season.
