Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson facing rape allegation

University of Oklahoma football star Rodney Anderson is the subject of sexual assault allegations made by a woman who filed for an emergency order of protection against him Monday night.

The woman claims she was raped by Anderson at her apartment a few weeks ago.

Oklahoma officials have confirmed they are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering information.

In a statement, Anderson's attorney Derek Chance vehemently denied the allegations.

According to the description of incident (s) in the protective order, the woman says the alleged incident occurred on November 16. The plan was for her to take an Uber home, but "Rodney's friends insisted that he take me home". She also claims that Anderson bit her, and that when she tried to put clothes on and leave, Anderson asked her what she was doing.

No charges have been filed against Anderson at this point, and a Norman police investigation is ongoing.

A lawyer representing Anderson called the allegation false and sais Anderson "will be exonerated of any wrongdoing".

An online case record says Cleveland County District Court Judge Jequita Napoli will hold a hearing on December 18.

"While we can only speculate as to (the woman's) motives in seeking a civil protective order, her claims surfaced only after Mr. Anderson did not reciprocate a desire to pursue a relationship with (the woman)", the statement said. "However, there are those accused of sexual assault which they unequivocally did not commit - as is the case for Mr. Anderson", the statement reads.

Chance also said that the woman was trying to pursue a relationship with Anderson after November 16 and filed the protective order only after he rebuffed her. Over the past seven games, he has gained 1,134 yards from scrimmage - rushing and receiving - and scored 14 touchdowns.

Anderson, a redshirt sophomore, has a team-leading 960 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Mixon in the second round of this year's draft.

The Georgia Bulldogs will face off against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Rose Bowl for the College Football Playoff semifinal.
