Take a look inside the world's largest Starbucks

The Reserve Roastery Shanghai, opening tomorrow 6 December, is twice the size of the first Roastery, in Seattle.

China is Starbucks fasting growing market with a store opening every 15 hours with more than 3,000 stores across 136 cities.

Twin to the Seattle-based inaugural small-lot Reserve cafe, the new restaurant boasts Starbucks' first augmented reality experience.

An augmented reality app is used in the new Starbucks Roastery in Shanghai, China.

As executive chairman Howard Schultz notes, Starbucks' success in China presents an unparalleled opportunity for the global consumer brand.

On offer will be around 80 new coffee and tea products unique to the store and dominating the new Roastery will be a two-story copper roasting cask adorned with more than 1,000 traditional Chinese chops, or stamps, narrating the story of Starbucks and coffee. "It is also another example of Starbucks tying together a physical store experience with new technology" said Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson when announcing this at the GeekWire Summit in September. "Strengthening partner-driven and locally-relevant community engagement" are just some of the buzzwords floating around the new initiative, which will see the introduction of Yunnan Reserve coffee, grown in Pu'er, exclusively at the Shanghai Reserve Roastery. (SBUX) said it will open its biggest location ever on Wednesday in the Chinese city of Shanghai.

The Starbucks Roastery follows Smith & Sinclair's "experiential" chocolate shop in Britain's John Lewis, and the sensor-decked NikeLab in London and NY stores past year.

He also said that China was becoming the most important market for Starbucks. Same-store sales gained 8 percent in the country during the most recent quarter, compared with 2 percent globally.

Starbucks is calling the Shanghai Roastery "the largest, most handsome Starbucks location in the world".
