Friends, fans and colleagues show love for Jessica Falkholt

The life support of Home & Away star Jessica Falkholt has been switched off two weeks after her family was involved in a horrific Boxing Day vehicle crash which also claimed the lives of her parents and sister.

Jessica has reportedly undergone several surgeries, including the removal of a kidney and part of her skull, and has been in a coma since the crash.

"On behalf of the family of Jessica Falkholt, St George Hospital has been asked to advise the media and the community that Jessica's life support has been switched off", a hospital statement said.

Speaking to Yahoo7 News, a spokesperson for St George Hospital said Jessica remained in a critical condition late on Thursday night.

Her parents were killed in the Boxing Day crash in New South Wales, which also left her sister with fatal injuries.

"Speaking about the accident, Jessica's uncle, Paul Ponticello, said: "[It's] a day that will be hard to erase from our memory", adding that Lars was known for being an excellent driver.

On Wednesday, hundreds of mourners gathered at St Mary's Church in Concord, Sydney, to farewell the Falkholt family.

Jessica's parents Lars and Vivian were killed instantly in the crash and her sister Annabelle died in hospital three days later.

In a funeral notice, Lars, Vivian and Annabelle were described as a "dearly loved and cherished father, mother and sister to Jessica". The Daily Telegraph reports that Whitall had many previous driving infractions, including a nine-year ban and had at least 10 convictions for driving without a licence.

The driver at the centre of a fatal auto crash, which tore the Falkholt family apart, had been jailed four times and had over 60 serious traffic convictions to his name.

Falkholt played Hope Morrison on the long-running Australian soap opera.

"The irony of this tragedy is that Lars was such a careful driver". We'd always have a laugh. I will always miss you. Her first feature film, Harmony, is due for release later this year.
